suddenly i miss US so much. went through the work-and-travel pics earlier for the millionth time already, but it never seems to be enough. sigh...i miss them, the thais, dear and fai, sheryl and joey, IVY, sherine, jamie joyce karen reina, jose william sean, the taiwanese, my travel mates isaac nick yongchang thomas esmond brit marc, the rest of the guys lionel ss ambrose and all...

seems so long ago and yet so near, and it's been more than 4 months already. i miss cedar point. though work there was a nightmare, though the managers are screwed up and bias, though we got angry at the supervisors so often, though we first froze our legs and fingers in spring before burning up under the summer sun, it was fun.

i miss the 16 roller coasters, esp the millenium force and the dragster, oh and definitely the raptor too...i miss cooking chicken fingers and fries and hotdogs and making a million burgers and baskets under stress...i miss ranch sauce (singapore don't have!), i miss b&j's at USD2.50 a pint...i miss elephant ears with cinnamon sugar...i miss the cheesecake factory...i miss san fran and LA and vegas and boston and nyc and chicago and dc...i miss pink's chilli cheese dog...i miss the funnel cakes that sean used to give us for free...i miss dippin' dots...i miss ryan's insane buffets...i miss..i miss..

longing for all that not to end is not possible, but i'm really thankful i experienced all that, the pple and weather and food and places and work. experience brings along learning and more importantly, appreciation.

today is marcus's 23rd birthday...last day of the year. Happy Birthday Marcus :)
yesterday wong ss turned 22...and later shalynn is having her belated 21st celebration. this december nicholas and i turned 21; ambrose and ss turned 22; marcus turned 23. time flies...so fast...too fast.

San Fransisco:
26th - 29th July 2006

at the San Fran Bay Area with its gorgeous view, strong winds, chocolate shops (!!), enormous bread bakery, alot of seafood (look at the lobsters and crabs!).

on the way up to the Coit Tower. loads of San Fran's streets are inclined at almost 30 degrees to the horizontal--> see the angle at which the cars are parked! but these hills give San Fran its breathtaking view from above :) love sf!!!

the boy and i went to via mar at the esplanade yesterday. tapas and pasta was more than enough for both of us. and he still doesnt understand why tapas is considered spanish haha. i dont quite either, but i guess it's the way u eat it? nevertheless, thanks dear for not forgetting that i once said that we should try spanish :)

we caught eragon after that, at suntec, together with loads and loads of other hall pple because of some hall entrepreneurship event. it was definitely a very disappointing show. not so much for me because there wasnt any expectations to begin with, but more for him. looks like you wont be able to catch part 2 haha!

thanks for carrying your present the entire evening haha...well, i carried it the entire day and even had to protect it from the rain! i hope it fits well and that you'll like it. it's simply white and you must must must use it in the US! or else...

met nicholas while shopping at marina sq yesterday. what a coincidence. esp since he msged me earlier that day. thanks for the 50 bucks, and i really really really hope that we'll meet up before i leave.

jasmine left on christmas night. good thing i was just in time..if not it'll be another 7 months before i see her again. take care girl and be very careful in the uk ya? nana made a pair of earrings for my christmas present, thank you so much nana...i really like it and it's really thoughtful of you!!! didnt talk much to mel because there wasn't enough time but babe we have to hang out before 8th jan ok!

met veronica at T2 after jasmine left. girl, i hope u're feeling better today compared to christmas day. i understand what you mean by feeling abit empty, i really do. it's not foreign at all to me honestly. but difficult as it is, pull yourself together to face the new year with a different attitude ok!!! something more positive, something happier, something that will make you feel more xin fu! actually intended to talk to her about soe stuff, but on second thoughts, i decided against it. not that i dont trust her, thats nonsense, but that i don't see the point of what i wanted to say.

meeting the clarinet girls tonight..agnes weiting huixian...before agnes flies again. i see myself having a good time tonight :)

having dinner with missy tomorrow..it's almost been 3 years since we met at ey as colleagues. yet this friendship still continues...2.5 years after we both stopped working at the tax dept...a friend like her is hard to come by, but i'm sure glad ey allowed us to know each other :)

erin 3:41 PM

it's been 10 months. too fast to believe cos it's not really been 10 months right?

thank You for believing. thank You for trusting. thank You for not giving up. thank You for the chances. thank You for all that you've given, even those that were not reciprocated. thank You for giving me space. thank You for not pushing. thank You for understanding. thank You for not forcing. thank You for still being here. thank You for doing so much. thank You for being you.

sorry about the tears. sorry for the pain. sorry for the anger. sorry for the hurt. sorry for the frustration. sorry for the temper. sorry for the tolerance. sorry about the last sem. sorry about the nights.

it's been 10 months dear :)

did some shopping on monday, not for myself though. sadly...dont even get me started on what i want to shop for...cos i think the list stretches quite a distance haha. but no!!!! i must resist the temptation, resist the coats and skirts and dresses in the display windows and on the shop hangers, resist the boots and whatnots. sigh.

Tuesday
wanted to lunch at Billy Bombers at the Cathay with the boy, if not for the wet weather that ruined everything...boo! swensens wasn't too bad either...but why does it seem as if there are odd silences between us? was really looking forward to meeting the boy again, and i was really glad that he had tuesday free to come out despite his busy schedule with noc/sp/other friends. but...this anticipation somewhat washed off into the rain the moment i saw him...looking all gloomy and bored, i couldn't even find a hint of a smile beneath his stoic expression...it's as if he was doing routine work or something. that's kinda upsetting really. really. the same thing happened when i met him on sat night. really.

Wednesday
met jinfu for dinner at raffles city. i didn't want to be late meeting nich and the rest at 9, so i cabbed down to cityhall only to find that he was still in school -_- smu is really near cityhall, but it was my bad for snapping o'er the phone :( sorry man... think it's been about 1 year since we last met up, and haha i reckon it'll prob be another year before we next catch up.

was late (again) in meeting nicholas, veronica, kenneth, choonhui in town. nearly caused the guys to pay extra cover charge at zouk. we got in really early..like 10pm! so we headed off to macs first. somehow, but macs brought back bittersweet memories, it was not so much the place but more of what happened. the last time the same few of us were at macs was after kenneth's bday party at the butterfactory, such dear memories :)

i didn't drink much at all, only 1 shot of apple-something. the rest except veronica had quite abit of shooters and 2 jugs and some other stuff. choonhui was abit high after that i think...haha, he kept making funny faces while wrestling against the aggressive crowd that night. mambo was really insane that night though, for some reason the crowd was quite aggressive and pushy, literally. good thing for nich kenneth and choonhui, if not veronica and i would have been squashed to some corner haha. should have brought my cam!!! pics from that night will be up after nich sends them.

it was odd that night, but alot alot alot of memories came flooding back, i should think that i'm thinking too much as usual, but indulging in some stuff really does allow that tinge of a smile to creep out from the corner of your mouth :) you 2 know what i mean. veron may know what i mean...? clubbing with the vj band pple was really quite enjoyable, dunno if there'll be another chance before i leave next year. couldn't really sleep immediately that night despite my pounding head. thinking too much, recalling too much. that's not good.

Thursday
accompanied bing around town to get stuff...quite glad we found the ck wallet, it's a pretty good buy! dinner was great...at billy bombers at the Cathay, we had a fantastic meal - soup + the all star burger in gigantic portions + cookies n cream milkshake + original sin choco cake. we used my voucher so it was quite a good deal! talked to her bout what was weighing on my mind since the night before...yea girl, it's good that i'm leaving.

Friday
had lunch with bing and sha at Billy Bombers again!!! that's cos we dipped out a 1-for-1 half slab of ribs during the lucky draw the day before haha. another good deal....a full set of ribs complete with wedge fries and chunky potato salad shared among the 3 of us! met xuan after that for ktv. 5 hours for only 10 bucks, plus free flow drinks and pseudo-sharksfin soup :) initially we thought 5 hrs would be too long, but it turned out to be just nice! my 4th time karaoke-ing...it's quite fun, girls why didn't we do this earlier?! xuan and i had mango fried rice along chinatown, thanks girl for the treat! it was really good...mango in rice does wonders. really. we talked alot about our pl days, from pri1 till sec4. don't we just miss those carefree times when there was so much lesser to worry or think about. how unlike my uni days, life complicates as we grow up, does it have to be like this? the jc years were awesome too, a different sort of experience from 10 years of being in an all-girls sch but nevertheless very enriching.

feels great to walk down memory lane with the girls in this way, not only remembering what happened, but also knowing that we were there for one another through the smiles and blushes and tears and frowns :)

You are Temperance

Time. Ages. Transformation. Involuntary change

Temperance is another card of aspiration, but also of much change. It often
represents complex situations. Positively, you can harmonize contrary
forces.

Temperance is, on a surface level, about "tempering." The original pouring from cup to cup might have been about cutting wine with water. So this is a card about moderation. There is, however, another angle to the card, that of merging seemingly impossible opposites. Sagittarius, the centaur, merges beast and man into a unique creature. And then there is the bow and arrow, one moving, one stationary, working together to point the way. Temperance may be, at first glance, a warning for you to "temper" your behavior, to cut your wine with water. But it may also be a reminder to that seemingly irreconcilable opposites may not be irreconcilable at all. Belief that fiery red and watery blue cannot be merged may be the only thing standing in the way of blending the two. Change the belief, measure out each with care, and you can create otherworldly violet.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

a melancholic post for a melancholic mood by a melancholic girl on a melancholic day.

'nuff said.

erin 5:01 PM

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I'd stay up and think of you
and I'd wish on a star
that somewhere you are thinking of me too

Now i'm dreaming of you tonight
till tomorrow, I'd be holding you tight
and there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be
then here in my room
dreaming about you and me

Wonder if you even see me
and I wonder if you know I'm there
If you looked in my eyes
would you see what's inside
would you even care?

VJCSB
NSSN concert
15th dec '06

tonight was fun...actually monday and wednesday nights of this week were fun because before this week, the last time i played the clarinet was like 2003...so long ago......i guess it's an age issue...like when u're a junior and u see the alumni coming back to perform for concerts, you barely think nothing of it. But...when u're part of the alumni going back to perform for concerts, it's an entirely different story altogether. because it's not really for the performance or the audience that we're concerned about, if at all. in fact, it's about playing again, sitting in the midst of the clarinets/flutes/trumpets/sax/tubas/euphos/trombones/horns and listening to those melodious tunes fill up the space around you. i should think that's what most of us miss :(

but seeing so many people from my batch turn up for practices and for the concert felt really good. it's as if we're back to 02/03 again, having regular band pracs, feeling like you can feel the notes, listening to the various players coming together as one...whee! daniel, fadzry, farid, baorong, jason, edmund, veronica, huixian, weiting....!! if i wasn't gg to be away from s'pore next year, i'll prob play for majestia in may. oh well, till NSSN (not so silent night) 2007! Posted by Picasa

mambo @ zouk with sha and bing
6th dec '06

though we queued for 2 hours and almost couldn't get in, though an entire bunch of people cut in right ahead of us, though some girl tried to be nasty and rude, though it was too squeezy and jampacked inside, though the girl at the bag counter was being unreasonable and frankly quite ridiculous, though we placed our order for 2 milos and 1 teh-peng 5 times before the drinks arrived albeit diluted, though we were so tired.....we had fun!

can we do this again?! :p

erin 3:16 AM

erin 2:39 AM

Happy Birthday to Me!
the pl girls..some i've known since primary school, for example: hoonie from pri 1; the rest from sec sch: sec 1B, 2B, 3A, 4A. Thanks so much ladies for coming over last friday, wanxuan even came over after work...hoonie and weixuan nearly got lost...and sha and bing walked/shopped/drew/cut/pasted to help me. felt really good to see all of us gathering together like this. the next time will be in july or aug next year!

thanks girls: veronica, huixian and weiting for being there not only at my house that day, but being there for me the past 5 years, be it listening or giving advice or waiting :) really glad too that nicholas and choonhui could make it. guess these impt people are the ones that i'm closest to from vjcsb...the 2 years in band couldn't have been the same without you!

extinct gang: lydia, shiwei, philifer, donut, li yean....thanks for turning up in full attendance! this year, we met up the most number of times ever since we all graduated from pl band haha! seriously, i still wonder why the name "extinct" stuck with us haha!

was so glad to see so many cedarpoint people last friday: reina, lionel, karen, marcus, britmand, nick, shaosheng, ambrose, spices, yongchang, esmond, thanks guys!

and gwen!!! you came after your camp thanks girl!! will meet up w u again before i leave definitely :)

and of cos there's my beloved Dolus: jas, mel, ivan, ernest, rochelle, mark and xuan...this is sorta our 2nd big meetup after jas's party! really was very happy to see you guys and girls there :) and mark, don't worry about what my dad said about the father's day thingy......!

family! godma, godpa, aunty ivy, mummy bren, shaun, rachel....really happy to see them since it's been so long, esp my 2 cousins. felt a lil distant from them actually...but it really warmed my heart when shaun stretched out his open arms and insisted that his godsis (aka me!) give him a big hug :) and yup, mummy and pa and chuan and yanjia.....the party absolutely would not have been possible if they didn't help me so much!

there's really alot alot of thanks to be said, and appreciation to be shown, to the friends who turned up (whether it was after work or attachment or camp or stomachache or from school or from home...); to pa who fetched grandpa over; to chuan and yanjia who helped with the food and ice and more; to the 2 very important girls in my life who prepared the guestboard and alphabets and photos; to the boy who cabbed down to my place from clementi at 11pm just so that i wont be disappointed that he's not at my 21st celebration; and to the most important person...mummy, because without you, there wouldn't be any food or cake or dress or party at all :)
