The best and most wonderful things in life cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. - Helen Keller -

read this quote off the back of a t-shirt of a visually impaired lade on the bus yesterday. think it's a beautiful quote.

You're an ESFJ
ESFJ

Well, what's there to say about ya, huh? You're a helpful person who places a high value on harmony. You pay close attention to people's needs and wants and work well with others to complete tasks in a timely and accurate way. You follow through on your commitments...you like structure and closure and like situations where warmth and compassion is shown. You're at your best by organizing people in getting a job done.

Radiate warmth and fellowship and generally fit in well with your classmates or workers....concerned about the feelings of others and like to help out when possible. You know it's important to give as well as receive and like to donate your services as a volunteer. You like to be with compatible people. You have an easier time making friends and accepting their roles in life... you like doing things traditionally.. you're old-fashioned that way.

You take the parent, spouse, employee or whatever role seriously...you learn best in a situation where you know what you can expect...you don't like continued interruptions..you really have to get along and like your teachers to learn well from 'em, huh? You place a high value on following through on tasks and assignments...you take the time to see how things fit together in the big picture, but this sometimes slows you down and makes you feel like you're learning slower than others...you respect rules and authority.. you do what you can to make sure your relationships run smoothly...

When you're in a leading situation, you pay attention to the needs of others. You often come across to others as friendly, warm and concerned....leisure is to be earned after work is done...like posting on the Storm Palace before playing the games.. ...you like including others in your relaxing... you like to have your social events regularly planned -- like a weekly softball league..

Love means warmth and commitment and you show this to your partner in many tangible ways...like cards and gifts and flowers and so on ...once you're committed, you stay in it even if it's an inconvenience to you...and maybe even longer than it's healthy...because you give so easily in a relationship, you're disappointed if others don't give as freely as you do.. you're more loyal to the institution of the relationship or marriage than the person...when burned in a relationship, you get hurt bad, and may need time to heal and get over it before moving on....you can really hurt someone if you wanted to...

Watch for: you tend to avoid conflict and sweep problems under the rug.. learn how to manage conflict and appreciate that conflict can help people in relationships to understand each other better...value your own priorities more and don't always put others' needs ahead of your own...don't bite off more than you can chew...hard to take or give corrective feedback, isn't it? You may not always ask for appreciation that you deserve...you might need to develop more assertiveness that way..you assume you know what's best for others and state these opinions.. that might rub 'em wrong and make you look bossy and rigid.... don't get so caught up in the details that you forget the larger picture....

firstly, sorry to joel for turning down your dinner request that night, gwen wasnt able to make it either. hope we can all meet up this friday! it was a nice suprise seeing you at chomp chomp today though :) which isnt exactly too much of a surprise actually rite, since you actually live in gardens haha. i walked past the ice cream shop "gelato", man does the ice cream look heavenly! oh right, the main focus (for you at least) is the ice cream girl. she's awwllright....above average, but not as hot as i thot she'd be, especially after all that you've described of her. sorry man to burst your bubble like that. its subjective, really. But! she's more of the sweet type. now i know that sweet babes like her can actually tie up your tongue haha :p

had dinner with mummy daddy and chuan at chomp chomp earlier. we din exactly stuff ourselves, but we sure ate quite abit:

1 Oyster Omelette
1 Char Kway Teow
1 plate of Shells
Satay
1 Carrot Cake
Sesame seed paste with tangyuan
1 Stingray.....Yummy!
i am beginning to dislike my JS tutor more and more by the seconds. how difficult is it to send an email regarding tutorial group presentations to Everyone in your class? instead, he sent it to the selected few (i.e. 1 person from each group) only. What if that 'lucky' person did not check her mail before tmr? then the entire group would be stuck like that. thanks alot man. well done.

there's another teacher worth mentioning. lecturer i should say. so glad she's not my tutor. meanie-nan sure loves giving us alot of stuff to do.

what's up or down with the teachers this sem?!

just read jas's latest entry. whatever she wrote on it just created this sudden wave of feelings as i read it. the 1st thing that my head thought of after reading was "this is So true." how many times do we make silly excuses like that in order to get out of something? in order to get out of making that teeny wee bit of an effort on our part to strengthen and sustain that thin thread binding friendships or relationships together?

i'm guilty of stuff like that myself. which explains why my primary school best friends are no longer my best friends, and why some friends i made over the years just drifted apart after a while such as when we're in diff schools or when they're in army. but No, i will Not let that happen now, not to the few who are so close and dear to me. you are the ones that i will treasure for always. no, i won't let that happen to the friends now, acquaintances included(?).

but such stuff cannot be predicted. and it has already happened, much as i don't want it to.

a friend just found new happiness, and babe: i am so happy for you!

another friend just lost not-so-new happiness, girl, you still haf us by your side, and i really hope that u'll cheer up soon and not let this get you down or distract you while preparing for exams. let fate do its work. time will tell. and time will heal.

in the day, i was awake for barely 6.5 hours before i succumbed to the temptation of The Bed again: got up at 12, reluctantly initially, considering how there was less than 7.5 hours of sleep, but willingly after that, cos mummy dear reminded me that the buffet ends at 2.30. oops!

the Penang Hawker Fare Buffet at york hotel was simply fantabulous! now to recall what i ate:

2 peanut pancakes (ban chang kueh)
1.5 char kuey teow
1.5 oyster omelette
2 prawn mees
1 penang laksa
0.5 kangkong + cuttlefish

cool, thats 7.5 plates effectively. alright, reaslised that 7.5 plates sound horrific for lunch, but they're really small plates, the small sized ones we have at home. nevertheless, it was way enough for me (no dolus, i'm not gg to say what most people would say under such circumstances :x) and there just wasnt room for dinner after that.

did abit of shopping w mummy and chuan aft that in town. yay! got a yellow tank top from giordano since it was sooo cheap and a yellow (yes, yellow again) tee from m)phosis since i dun haf anything like that in the cupboard. yellow is a fantastic colour. unfortunately, we had to leave the shops after that becoz chuan's eyes were positively shutting down while he was walking. poor boy.

watched Swing Girls last night. wasnt too keen on it initially cos i thought it'll be so into jazz music and all, and i really cant appreciate jazz for all the hype about it. thank goodness it wasnt. more of band music actually, ah ha! that's something i can relate better to. it was pretty cool though, the songs and the swing injected into the whole thing, kinda enjoyed it.

the show ended bout 130am. one of my friends suggested walking over to the now-non-existent glutton square to check it out, after i told him repeatedly that it's closed for good! right. so it was a long but fun walk down orchard road, from cineleisure to selegie for early morning snacks.
it certainly is a very very big bonus having a mother who is like no other. because she went for coffee with her friends when i sms-ed her at 11.45pm to tell her that i was watching a movie. because she drove down to selegie at 3.15am to send me home and gave my friend a lift. thank you so much mummy!

of course, i've not mentioned that she was already out before i sms-ed her about the movie, that she spent her time at insomnia @ chijmes with her friends before picking me up. haha. how funky is that. i din even know insomnia exists.

First time. First times.

there's always a first time for everything, how else do we get started experiencing or doing something new?

the excitement of "The First Time" is, well, exciting enough clearly because of the never-before-experienced novelty of it. i think this is applicable to both the good, bad and ugly first times. nevertheless, it's always fun to have something spicing up your life and providing alternative path(s) away from the somewhat relatively monotonous life you are probably in now.

things went pretty fast on friday too.

another week is over. Cognitive Psyc term paper is settled, the 'doing' part, certainly not the 'marking' part. Abnormal Psyc test looming near this monday. SOM essay and midi not touched at all, which is really stressing me out, especially since a fren has already finished both!! argh.

additional stressors include motivation to start marketing business for union ball, before i get branded as highly-inefficient; and stuff to do as treasurer for jam and hop; and stuff to do for mega sale.

exams are so so so coming.....sheesh. and i am so so so behind everything. even bigger sheesh.

Just back from my cousin's wedding at Conrad, it was rather enchanting, though not very. yingying really looks pretty today, love the second dress she changed into - shimmering off-white halter gown with intricate silver patterns on it and a train to top it all off.

the boring part of the night (which was majorly almost the whole dinner) was during the eating when we were seated at the table....4 of us and uncle bobby's and daddy's mutual golf friends. guess what they talked about the whole night...

din go for lect at 10 this morning, somehow i decided to skip it the night before. not skipped lectures like this since the start of sem. i practically toured the whole of nus today, in the bus of course, not on foot! went from arts to pgp to arts to yih to pgp to arts. sheesh!

things are so unpredictable. always. don't you agree? just think back on the sort of events that have shocked you when your friend first told you about them. sometimes it's certainly more difficult to be the one to break the news to the close ones around you than to be the listening ear to the 'broken' news. i guess that getting the words out of your mouth can be very tough, not to mention, embarrassing and uncomfortable at times. in such cases, do people undergo internal neurological struggle (i.e. to say or not to say) before the say it? it happens to me.

Just a thought, is it due to human evolution that most people are sensitive to touch? no, not as in the ability to feel someone poking you, but more of being comfortable with more physical stuff like hugs etc.

hmm, just a thought.
