some are in perfect control, some are completely out of control.
whats up with the 2 extremes of it? whats wrong with having everything in moderation? why is it such that if it can't go one way, the whole deal is completely off? how about a compromise so that both parties wun lose everything entirely? i dun see how or for that matter, why, that is SO difficult to achieve. Sheesh. if u can't bring them together, it certainly doesn't, from my point of view, mean that u have to separate them altogether, push them, force them to poles so distant there's absolutely no hope in closing the gap in between.
but honestly, if that is what u Wish for, if that is what u Intend to do, if that is what u are Already doing, i have nothing to say cos at such a point in time, nothing said or done on my part is gonna help the way things are. this only shows how much u value this.

i had a pretty exciting day today...read on:
was given the chance to try reggae, maringue, disco rock, salsa, chacha this afternoon, sure is very very tough. for me at least. the basic steps were ok, but when the DI (short for dance instructor) started gg faster, according to the beat of the oh-so-sexy and oh-so-fast songs, whoa (!) my legs felt rubbery and twisted already. but still, it was fun! supposed to do some practice on the steps, onli problem now is that err, i can't remember them already. oops :p this is really not my stuff, cos moving like that is a mountainous problem for me, like my mum says: can't move hips, can't shake your hips, can't move to the beat......haha!
for those who haf yet to watch any movie at all, go catch "Bridget Jones: the edge of reason"!!! watched it last night, its funny in a very bridget-way (duh...) and the bonus: the film's got a great soundtrack! really enjoyed myself during the show last night :) yay, 1 movie down.
had this great all-american dinner at "billy bombers" at the heeren yesterday before my movie...i ordered a caesar salad that apparrently was left out by the waiter and left out from the bill too...hehe. we had a cookies-and-cream shake that was absolutely yummylicious (slurp!)!
looking forward to nex week, looks like its gonna be exciting!!! tentatively the itinery is as follows:
Mon: haircut @ harrods with my mum
Tue: glucose-consuming session @ gelare with the girls
stayover @ ___ with the band girls
Wed: collect *impt stuff* from town
ladies night @ zouk(?)
stayover @ bing's hall with sha xuan fe(?)
yay!

its official! i've survived my first sem! yay!
my last paper was yesterday afternoon at 5pm. it was soci, and it was bad. actually, other than elang, all my other 3 papers were bad. i was 5 minutes late for physics paper last friday, not that it really made a huge diff, cos 5 more minutes wouldn't have made a solution appear anyway. tells alot about how difficult and nerve-wrecking it was. sheesh. psyc was that teeny wee bit more manageable only, made alot of mistakes, forgot alot of stuff, confused alot more info...soci was confusing too, sigh~ think the results will be out mid-dec (?) i dun wanna get them back..
yesterday, thought i'd betta go get my film essay and term paper before they throw them away..ok that wasn't so bad it turned out, the project 5 essay was ok, and my essay on muhammad ali was quite ok, thats about the onli mood-uplifting thing bout exams this sem!
after soci yesterday, sheena jas and i went to town to meet rochelle and ernest who waited an hour plus for us
we had pasta @ pasta mania, cini. ooh! i just love pasta, and so does jas, i found out. i din wanna go with the usual creamy pasta so i took spinach tortellini (is that how u spell it jas?), jas recommended it, it turned out good actually, one of the few tomato-sauced pastas i like. as usual, we had a rolling good time laughing away before, during and after dinner, thanks to ernie roch nana jas!
can't wait to go watch a movie, well, movies actually. there's bridget jones coming out in a few days, polar express...and 1 more that jas said last night, can't remember the title. and go shopping! there can never be enuff shopping!! of course there's gelare waiting for us after roch's paper!! and hopefully, dolus outing(s) too?
called bing the moment i reached home last night. she wanted me to go stayover tonight, partially cos i promised to do that ages ago, and partially cos zili was gg home tonight. but we both decided that it'd be too rushed for her cos of her hall cheerleading practices, so for now, i think its just shopping tmr! we've got *important* stuff to buy, yea, just looking forward to tmr and to meeting her too :)

today, we celebrated shalynn's bday with a surprise dinner / gathering for her--> preparations for today started as early as monday, when james called me after lect to see if i'd be free for dinner sat (today). he wanted to plan a surprise pre-bday dinner for sha with her close frens there, so he called me to 'discuss' his plan, who to ask along, where etc. in the end, it was decided that the dinner would be at this german market place "Vil'age" aka Marche-look-alike, and it'll be sha, james, me, bing, xuan, 5 of us.
i met xuan at 5 at PS to get her cake--it was tiramisu, tasted pretty good actually, then we made our way to China Square where "Vil'age" is. its in a rather secluded area, never knew that part existed until today haha. bing came at 6. james arranged with me such that when sha walks in, we'd light the candle, just in time for her. well, we did that. the unexpected thing was that she didn't notice the cake at all until quite a while later. she saw xuan and i and thought it was such a coincidence that maybe 2 of us decided to meet the arts pple here for dinner (haha!) then she saw bing, guess she knew what that meant...that we were there to have dinner with her! she started laughing first, then her eyes turned red, started shining, watered, and tears rolled down her cheeks. i was quite stunned for a moment, didn't want my eyes to start watering. yea, it was a great surprise for her, she was really shocked :) yay!
we ordered abit too much food, well, it was james who ordered too much veggies actually. din wanna waste food, so we played zong ji mi ma, bing ate bout 5 times, shalynn ate it 2 times, xuan ate it 2 or 3 times, james ate it 1 or 2 times, lucky me, i din get to consume any cauliflower (eww..) or onions haha.
walked around PS with xuan abit after that, bing went to meet howe so that he could take the mrt with her back to boon lay, and sha stayed on at "Vil'age" with James. how we wish that the exams are over already! just looking forward to the play and fun we can have after that. but till then, sigh~
keep telling myself to buck up cos there ain't much time left before the 19th. really shouldn't keep thinking bout the post exam period, but concentrate more on getting thru the papers first. shouldn't distract myself too much really! ah...got lots of shopping to do!!

talked to jem on monday when i was in the lib..via msn. was afraid it would be awkward to talk to him again, but thankfully it wasn't. it seemed as if nothing ever happened, we were talking mainly bout sch life...mine here and his down under. but behind that facade of 'calmness' and 'peace', there was this slight barrier that somehow made it a teeny wee bit uncomfortable, on my part at least. sigh~ guess the effects of what happened are still 'lingering' around..in short: the guilt is still there.
its been 4+ months since dolus was created on 22nd june 2004. and up till now, i'm so glad that we're still together and meeting up regularly (or practically almost everyday in fact!) for lectures, tutorials, lunch, dinner, study sessions, yada yada....hmm in fact, i see dolus pple everyday in school!!!
we were at engin mac yesterday for dinner after soci lect, and ernest was the one who started the "name-game" that got us laughing till our stomachs hurt and eyes watered (rochelle? haha).
-are you full?
-yum-seng
-no link
-ho bo?
-tan gu gu (?)
-xiao mi feng wong wong wong
-drink jasmine tea, ong?
haha.

i left sch with a smile on my face, literally. kinda unexplainable, just that while walking from the busstop to the eusoff carpark (where mel and rochelle were) somehow abit of that familiar rhythm and skip in the footsteps popped out from nowhere...was smiling inside. since last week when i was working on my film essay, i've been looking forward to the end of tuesday aka Now. so when 'Now' finally came, well, it was good.
set a 'record' for myself last night..left sch at 130am(!!!!), reached home at 2am(!!!!), slept at 3, woke up at 530 for lect at 8. whoa, never done anything like that before. actually, we could haf completed the physics demo way before 1, but plus the talking and stuff like that, it stretched up to 5 hours.
the demo was more fun than anything i expected, it was really informal, we showed them the double cone rolling uphill, ym did most of the talking actually, i added in abit here and there, the lecturer asked a few simple qns and we were done! somehow i've not gotten over the anxiety and butterflies in the stomach effect when speaking in front of a grp of pple, sheesh. could feel my hands shaking as i showed them the expt. haha what suprised me was that ym's hands were shaking too..hmmm (?) din know he got nervous in front of crowds too.
we spent the rest of the lab period exploring the demo lab..honestly i love that subject and even more how its found in every aspect of our daily activities. sigh~ just to quote something that this phd physics senior said:"you dun choose the subject, the subject chooses you." that makes alot alot of sense, guess i aint what the subject is looking for...
things are certainly looking up over here :) thats good! things are not as strained as before..not as uncomfortable...hope it gets even better.
