its such a LAY-ZEE sunday afternoon! what a temptation to turn on the air-con, grab a book, get cookies and milk, turn on the radio, and just relax in the room!!

except that i cant do that :( cos i do not haf a book, and cookies are not so helpful in keeping the calories and fats away and cos i haf to study.

been staying late in sch, specifically central lib 3rd floor, the past few days. no, 2 days to be exact. it's draining..when you're there in the morning and you leave about 10 hours later. whoa.

kinda figured out my study 'pattern' after so many years of studying haha. optimal concentration and focus before lunch or just before eating anything and when without distractions; significantly reduced rate of absorbing after lunch because of the tendency for eyes to erm, shut; regained focus after 4pm esp once i tahan the sleepy period after eating.

awwlllright. i know what to do - read as much as i can before eating! simple as that! before my stomach starts growling too bad and too embarrassingly that is..haha.

i'm feeling happier now!

just clicked "upload" on the ivle midi submission page - it's done! the messed up tempo really got me into a horrid frenzy this afternoon, really like red ants on the hot stove. direct translation haha. and so practically the whole afternoon was spent on midi-ing.

Big thanks to Ernest who helped out alot - the rhythm and the drums, testing out the piece on his keyboard....Thank you!

intended to complete Cognitive Disorders today, but i'm onli going to start it now although i wanted to start in the afternoon. Reason for 'procrastination' - refer to midi-related paragraph above.

visited grandpa in hospital earlier...oh dear oh dear. poor grandpa had a fever last night, really high - 39+ degrees i think. so awful! anyway the docs said that it's got to do with his heart or something like that. the cardiologist cant be there till monday but he wants to self-discharge already... i hope he gets well and goes home soon.

the submission of the midi marks the end of GEK 1519 Science of Music for Semester 2 2004/2005. there is no exam for this module, hence students are able to concentrate on their other papers. i.e. that means 4 papers! please dun tag in the tag box and tell me u haf 3 papers......haha.

yesterday was such an odd day.

it started off alright: got back my elang quiz 2, saw the last (hopefully!) of tara meanienan. had the last JS lecture after that, which effectively is the last lecture for Year 1!! simon avenell is soooo nice. and yea jas, i think saito could do with a translator haha.

dropped my pen in LT10 during elang and forgot to pick it up before leaving for JS. thought i'd never see it again till i remembered that marcus had a store of it haha.

xuan melvin david and i went to munchie monkey for lunch. no actually, 3 of them had lunch together, not with me.

atmosphere during lunch wasnt nice at all. not comfortable at all. not enjoyable in the least. it was strained. full stop.

but i'm glad that we've cleared things up at least. yippie!

yesterday was half a mugging day. was in the lib from 2+ to 8.15. with 1 tea break in between. and we didn't even have tea! haha.

it was practically a dolus gathering at the lib! except that on level 3, we were seated at 4 different tables; and on level 6, 2 different tables i assume. i miss those times last year when we all went to the lib to study together....sit together and mug together. sigh.

today the MIDI is raising my blood pressure. it sounds ok on the midi programme, but change it to midi format 0 or 1 and play it on wmp, and presto! what do u get? an ultra retarded (the rhythm i mean) piece of i dunno what. great.

that is so gonna screw my marks for that. Noooooooooooo!!!

HELP!

today is a mid day. MIDI day i mean. spent a couple of hours (or maybe slightly more than a couple) at thomson plaza foodcourt with ernie, cos of some problems i had w the midi programme. wat did i say about me being sort of technology illiterate?! haha.

thanks ernie!!

but no....my midi hours did not end there. got straight to work at the organ and the com right after i got home. tat was about 3.30. was figuring out the rhythm all the way till 8pm. oh goodness. surprisingly, it was really fun! did i just say fun? haha. yea, i certainly didn't expect myself to enjoy drawing out every single note for the cymbals/drums/yada yada. i still can't find the concert band bass drum, the kind that resonates in this grand fashion.

watched "what women want" starring mel gibson. oh wait, or was he richard gere? no no, its gibson. like that show.

just wondering what it'll be like if guys can really hear what females think. *shudder* i dun want nobody listening to my thoughts!! where's the privacy then? i wun be able to make sardonic remarks in my head, or have unflattering comments which are better left unsaid. oops, that sounds mean. but hey, face it, we all do that right? ;)

i was just lamenting yesterday afternoon that this is a lonely weekend cos my family ain't here. yes, the preciousness of kinship!! gosh, i do miss them.

i was just telling joel over msn how great it'll be if i could drive and had a car, then i would be able to go out for supper anytime of the night i like. (and hope very hard that the calories will not add on!!) i said that cos i was reading a friend's blog and she had had 3 rounds of desserts in a day! her blog account was complete with full details of the hazelnut mudpie thingy and everything else, yummy yummy! of cos i told joel that cos i had a car (daddy wasn't using it) but i couldn't drive. he said i was "jonesing for supper" haha. cool word dude.

to my complete surprise, you called at 11.42pm and asked if i was at home cos u were outside the gate. oh. my. gosh. really didn't believe you at first, thought u were kidding. But! no, u were really outside, holding a box from Hilton Singapore, that contained a semi-circle half of Blackforest cake!!! woo hoo! imagine the look on my face when i saw that haha!

i know i've said this numerous times already, but thank you so much for taking the trouble to come here, i really appreciate it alot alot alot :) :) :)

i simply can't wait to let the JS project report leave my hands and hopefully my com too haha. still waiting for 1 of the girls to mail me her intro so that i can put everything together, make changes here and there, ensure that the 2 parts are coherent, and then, mail it over to another girl who will put the finishing touches to it, in time for tomorrow's submission. oh man, such last minute work is scary, esp when your friends did their editing last weekend. haha.

will you hurry with the introduction please?!! dun tell me u dun haf internet connection at home and use that as an excuse to mail it in the afternoon. u're gonna make the 2 of us work real hard....on the double girl! err, girls!

gotta say this, chocolate chip muffins from Sweet Secrets are yummylicious! but Delifrance choc muffins are still the best....you're my number 1..haha.

yesterday was a special day for a couple i know. happy 1st month!

are people too cold sometimes? ok, maybe "cold" is not the appropriate word to use here, perhaps "void of emotions" will sound better? no, wait, that sounds horrid too. certain emotions are non-expressive - we know exactly how we're feeling, but just cannot put it into words. either that or it's a diagnosis of not even being in the know of our feelings. in this case, we cant put into words what we know not right?

someone said that certain things i've written are more explicitly explained than what i say verbally. is that true? i can't quite find any examples of that though....on the otherhand, i thought that what's written here is usually very vague and not into details. hmm tats odd.

this weekend is a lonely one. chuan went off for odac camp on friday. he'll onli be back on sunday, prob in the evening. daddy flew off to perth this morning for his erm, golf game. sheesh, what a constructive use of money. ok shall not comment further on that. mummy flew off to bangkok this morning too (after daddy) w her friends for her shopping trip. she'll onli be back monday night. so effectively its HOME ALONE this weekend (if we exclude marietta that is).

coupled with js project to complete, essay and midi, studying, tutorial, this weekend is helluva exciting. 'nuff said.

just a 'sudden' inspiration to do this.

to Chuan who does read this blog: hey bro, ur exams are coming. although they're only mid-years and will not be counted for the a'levels, please still put in the effort to study and try to sleep less (when studying that is haha). buck up for GP, u need truckloads of work on that if you wanna clear that subject and you jolly well know that darn well. alright, take this as issue 1 to chuan, subsequent 'issues' will come by in future. in the meantime, love you!

sometimes i wonder about what i'm doing. do i know what i'm doing? do i know Exactly what i'm doing and the consequences/outcomes of my actions and words?

the above mentioned blabbering is merely a 'side effect' of certain things going on right now...marketing...friends...more friends...studies...

genuinely i was caught completely off-guard when you asked me about the accuracy of your conclusion yesterday. your conclusion from mere observations and linking and...deductions. hence, this explains the hard time i had answering it. certainly, we all hold different perspectives of viewing situations and people, and it definitely is interesting to know what other people see with regard to the same issue.

i'm sorry if such an ambiguous answer was given in reply to your 'question', but i've never thought of it that way, and worse still, i've never thought of that option as remotely possible, as least not in the near future. but 1 thing is for sure: i wasn't kidding when i said that i'll have no idea whatsoever in knowing how to deal with a predicament like that.

i seem to be talking in circles. oh crap.

to a friend who's just had a series of up-down episodes of fever and ongoing stomach upset, hope you get well really soon :)

longest meeting ever attended (as far as i can remember that is):
CMC meeting in CR1 which commenced at 1130 and ended at 1530. that is a freakin' 4 hours!!! not to mention how i got shot at (in a very mild way) that completely gave me a scare and a blank mind. sheesh. talk about slow reaction.

workload for the moment:
SOM essay
SOM Midi
JS project
JS readings
SOM test
UB MARKETING!!

Help.

Bedtime Bear
You are usually asleep on the job but that's okay because your job is to make sure everyone gets enough sleep! You're shy and sweet...when you are actually awake! Getting sleepy already?
