Friday was my last day of work at bloodcafe. it was amanda's birthday too. i'm officially jobless!! Darren dropped by at the cafe after i ended work. i had the last of laksa pesto and side bread. got a pleasant surprise from junxian who dropped by too with his friends. after dinner, we went to raffles city for oweek payment. complete flashback to last year during the same period when i was at raffles city starbucks making payment for oweek. sigh. how time flies doesn't it? i'm not a freshie anymore!

we practically talked continuously from dinner all the way till 530am. Esplanade was having a free rock band performance at the open area and the pair that performed first was really good. loved the way she sang and expressed the songs. it's amazing how songs are so integrated with our lives that listening to a song can trigger a whole load of memories about another person, and how the lyrics can somehow always manage to link to a particular issue or person if u're in a particular mood. nonetheless, it's great fun to just sit and listen to the music with a friend who's got lots to share bout it.

there's this supposedly beautiful place behind the irish pub at somerset. beautiful because when the blue floorlights are turned on, they reflect upwards and sideways against the black tiled pillars and ceiling and tiny stars seem to miraculously appear on the ceiling. sadly, that night that we went there, the lights were not turned on. nvm, there's always next time.

never before have i stayed out the whole night like that. usually it's stayover at someone's house, or chalet, or mahjong, or camp. but this round, it's just talking and talking. we sat opposite the 7-11 outside taka for bout 1hr before deciding to get a quick bite from 7-11, only to change our minds and decide on mac breakfast instead. yummy, not had mac b'fast for so long!
