today, we celebrated shalynn's bday with a surprise dinner / gathering for her--> preparations for today started as early as monday, when james called me after lect to see if i'd be free for dinner sat (today). he wanted to plan a surprise pre-bday dinner for sha with her close frens there, so he called me to 'discuss' his plan, who to ask along, where etc. in the end, it was decided that the dinner would be at this german market place "Vil'age" aka Marche-look-alike, and it'll be sha, james, me, bing, xuan, 5 of us.

i met xuan at 5 at PS to get her cake--it was tiramisu, tasted pretty good actually, then we made our way to China Square where "Vil'age" is. its in a rather secluded area, never knew that part existed until today haha. bing came at 6. james arranged with me such that when sha walks in, we'd light the candle, just in time for her. well, we did that. the unexpected thing was that she didn't notice the cake at all until quite a while later. she saw xuan and i and thought it was such a coincidence that maybe 2 of us decided to meet the arts pple here for dinner (haha!) then she saw bing, guess she knew what that meant...that we were there to have dinner with her! she started laughing first, then her eyes turned red, started shining, watered, and tears rolled down her cheeks. i was quite stunned for a moment, didn't want my eyes to start watering. yea, it was a great surprise for her, she was really shocked :) yay!

we ordered abit too much food, well, it was james who ordered too much veggies actually. din wanna waste food, so we played zong ji mi ma, bing ate bout 5 times, shalynn ate it 2 times, xuan ate it 2 or 3 times, james ate it 1 or 2 times, lucky me, i din get to consume any cauliflower (eww..) or onions haha.

walked around PS with xuan abit after that, bing went to meet howe so that he could take the mrt with her back to boon lay, and sha stayed on at "Vil'age" with James. how we wish that the exams are over already! just looking forward to the play and fun we can have after that. but till then, sigh~

keep telling myself to buck up cos there ain't much time left before the 19th. really shouldn't keep thinking bout the post exam period, but concentrate more on getting thru the papers first. shouldn't distract myself too much really! ah...got lots of shopping to do!!
